Some readers have asked about some words related to summer, so I have decided to post some of the most common words used in Spanish, which are related to the summer:<\/p>\n
El Sol – Sun<\/p>\n
La Playa – Beach<\/p>\n
La Sombrilla- the umbrela<\/p>\n
La crema – the lotion<\/p>\n
La arena – the sand<\/p>\n
El Castillo- The castle<\/p>\n
El Mar – The sea<\/p>\n
A few activities which can be used when teaching summer and beach themes are:<\/p>\n
*Use colored sand and have them cover the word playa for example<\/p>\n
*Buy precut fish craft and have them put it together, teaching fish and other sea animals<\/p>\n
*Buy plastic fishing kit, they children will love to go fishing and learn about water and animals<\/p>\n
*Beach Ball can be used to be passed, each student will need to say a beach word in Spanish when you stop the song<\/p>\n
There are many other activities which can be done using the summer vocabulary, just make sure to have fun planning it!<\/p>\n
